Tampa Host WNBA Exhibition Game

TAMPA, Fla.-The University of Tampa will host a preseason WNBA game between the Washington Mystics and Sacramento Monarchs on Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. EDT. The game will be the first WNBA game to be played in the city of Tampa as the contest will be held at the Bob Martinez Sports Center.

WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley coach Barbara Stevens became the sixth women's basketball coach in NCAA history to amass 700 career wins as her Falcons shot down Bryant 85-69 in Northeast-10 Conference action Thursday, January 5. Stevens, the first NCAA, Division II coach to join the 700-win club, achieved the milestone in her 29th season and 886th career game, becoming the third fastest to reach that prestigious level.

The first '06 version of the USA Today/ESPN poll for NCAA, Division II women's basketball was released Tuesday, January 3. The same teams comprise the top-10, but some shuffling has occurred. Delta State and Cal State-Bakersfield join the poll, replacing Central Missouri State and Carson-Newman.
