Wingate's Barnette MVP As East Wins CBI All-Star Tilt

WADSWORTH, Ohio-With a game-high 17 points and five rebounds, Sean Barnette of Wingate was named the East All-Star Most Valuable Player as he led his team to a 107-85 win in the 2008 Collegiate Basketball Invitational All-Star Game, played at Wadsworth High School Saturday, April 26 and telecast live on ESPNU.

Helping Barnette in the win was Plattsburgh State's Anthony Williams with 16 points, while Devario Hudson of Valdosta State pumped in 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Others scoring in double figures for the East was Pikeville's Jeff Ferguson with 14 points and Steve Dagostino of St. Rose
with 10 points. Dagostino also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists. Leading the East in rebounds was Jeremy Black of Tampa has he had 10 boards.

Leading the way for the West was Cory Abercrombie of Pittsburg State as he was named the MVP of his squad after he registered a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Oklahoma City's Willie Irick scored 14 points, while Robert Lee of West Texas A&M contributed 13 points. Rounding the double figure scorers for the West was Othyus Jeffers of Robert Morris (Ill.) with 11 points and Callistus Eziukwu of Grand Valley State and Matt Hall of Harding both scoring 10 points apiece.
